View previous versionsThis page explains who owns the Owambe Meter platform, who owns member content, what use is permitted, and how to report infringement.
1. How this page fits with our terms
This page brings the intellectual-property provisions already contained in our Terms of Service and Copyright & Takedown policy into one place. It does not take ownership away from members or broaden the licence they give us. If this summary conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control.
The short version
You keep ownership of what you post. We keep ownership of the platform and our original brand materials. Each side receives only the permissions needed to use the service as described in the Terms.
2. The platform and Owambe Meter brand
The Owambe Meter name, logos, original visual identity, product design, software, source code, text, graphics, documentation and other materials we create belong to Owambe Meter Limited or to licensors who have permitted us to use them.
Using the service does not transfer those rights to you. You receive the personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission described in the Terms to use the app for its intended purpose.
© 2026 Owambe Meter Limited. All rights reserved.
3. Permitted use of the platform
Unless the law permits it or we agree in writing, you may not:
- copy, reproduce, adapt, republish, sell, license or commercially exploit our software, design, text, graphics or brand materials;
- scrape or automatically collect content or data from the service;
- reverse-engineer, probe, bypass or interfere with the service or its security controls;
- remove or obscure copyright, trademark or other ownership notices; or
- use our name or logos in a way that suggests sponsorship, approval or affiliation when none exists.
4. Your content remains yours
You keep ownership of your content. Posting photos, videos, captions, comments, messages or profile details does not transfer ownership to us.
You give us the limited, worldwide, non-exclusive and royalty-free licence stated in the Terms to store, process, resize, convert, display and distribute your content only as needed to operate, secure, improve and promote Owambe Meter inside the service, including feeds, profiles, leaderboards and share previews.
That licence does not by itself give us permission to place your content in an external advertising campaign or an Owambe Meter social-media promotion. We would obtain separate permission before doing that.
The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to expiring backups and anything the law requires us to retain, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
5. What members must have permission to post
When you post content, you confirm that you own it or have all permissions needed to publish it on a public service. You must also have the agreement of identifiable people shown in it and must not violate copyright, trademark, privacy, image or other rights.
Content remaining available does not mean that we own it or approve it. Members remain responsible for what they post.
6. Copyright, trademark and other rights reports
If someone has posted your work without permission, follow our Copyright & Takedown policy. It explains what to include, how we review notices, how the person who posted may respond, and our repeat-infringer policy.
For trademarks, impersonation, counterfeit goods or another intellectual-property concern, contact legal@owambemeter.com with the relevant URLs, evidence of your rights and a clear explanation of the problem.
7. Feedback and ideas
If you voluntarily send suggestions or feedback about the service, we may use them without payment or obligation to you. Please do not send confidential information or ideas that you are not comfortable with us using.
8. Contact
Questions about intellectual property or formal legal notices may be sent to legal@owambemeter.com.
